Recommended Storage
Flint River Ranch pet food has a shelf life of about 6 months, from the date stamped on the bag, when stored in a cool, dry environment. However,
it is our recommendation that a opened bag of dog or cat food not be kept for more than three months.
All pet food must be stored in a dry, cool place and sealed to reduce the chance of mildew spoilage and insect infestation. Although these problems
appear in all food and pet food; it is more frequent in natural pet foods.
Keep products in their original bag.
Store bag in a bug-proof, airtight container.
Do not store bags and boxes on a cement or garage floor (moisture picked up from the floors can lead to deterioration).
Roll down tops of open bags and held closed by a clip or some other means to help keep insects and other pests out and to prevent overexposure to air.
If you wish to pour the pet food from the original bag into an airtight container, please make sure the container is clean and dry. It is very
important to not mix old and new food. Flint River Ranch has no chemical preservatives, so it has a 6-month shelf life from the date stamped on the bag.
Refrigeration is not necessary, but not a bad idea, particularly if your situation is borderline (high humidity, with several months
storage before the food is used up). We do suggest that you do not keep your pet food for more than three months once the bag is opened.
